Senior Captains Duncan Cameron, Toft and Dick Chapman, MMGC
On a hot Tuesday morning, Melton Seniors’ Section played host to Toft Seniors in match that is always keenly fought between the two clubs. Seniors’ Captain Dick Chapman led the 8 pairs out on a course which is still in great condition. Several matches went back and forth until the Melton players dug deep and clinched an almost whitewash 7 1/2 to 1/2.
Winning pairs were: Seniors’ Captain Dick Chapman and Charlie Chapman 3 & 1: Haydn Snow and Ray Smith 2 & 1: Richard Grieve and Bob Luke 3 & 2: Jerzy Schmidt and Al Terzza 2 & 0: Richard Haines and Dennis Dayman 1 up: David Bentley and Jim McQuillan 4 & 3: Richard Faubert and Ray Stone 2 & 1 and Owen Cook and Don Benzie secured the half.
