The return match for the Ladies from MMGC at Bedfordshire Golf Club took place on Friday 26th July on a day where thunderstorms threatened, but the weather and temperature were thankfully much cooler than the previous few days. Melton fielded 6 pairs against Bedfordshire’s 7 pairs and the format was a 4 ball better ball Stableford with the 4 best overall scores to count to determine the winning side. The course was in superb condition with the fairways beautifully manicured and the greens running true and fair. A few Ladies found the water on the signature par 3 15th, but as the cards came in the high standard of play was evident with teams from both sides racking up 41 points. Bedfordshire Golf Club with home advantage just pipped MMGC with a total of 153 points (41, 40, 36 and 36) to 151 points (41, 38, 36, 36). The matches were played in the friendliest of fashions and the ladies enjoyed catching up with players they had met back in May at Melton.
