Starting what is hoped to become an annual tradition, 27 Ladies at Melton Mowbray Golf Club held a Prosecco Afternoon Tea on Thursday 20th June, following the racing on the television and admiring the colourful fashion on display at Ascot. A selection of finger sandwiches, scones with jam and clotted cream, cupcakes and Limoncello shots tempted the guests. Each guest also had the chance to win a token gift by choosing a lucky dip horse in three of the afternoon races and the luckiest was Beth Denny (mother-in-law of Lady Captain Nancy Denny) who chose the favourite for the Gold Cup, Stradivarius ridden by Frankie Dettori. Just before leaving, the ladies got the chance to show off their assortment of headgear!
