On an almost dry Sunday (weather-wise at least) 64 players met in the clubhouse at 8am to take part in the first Autumn Trophy challenge of this year. Everyone was very grateful for the extra hour in bed and breakfast in the shape of bacon or sausage cobs with tea or coffee got the day started. A shotgun start at 8.30am saw the teams set off and the format was a Stableford competition with two scores to count on each hole, three on a couple of the par 5s and all four scores on every par 3.
Winners on this day, receiving 10 points each, with a superb 101 points were Steve Goddard, Anthony Halls, Julien Kisiel and Vic Sproul.
Runners up on count back with 95 points and gaining 9 points each were Rob Smith, Kevin Robertson, Dave Timbrell and Pat Lee. Also gaining 9 points each with the same score were Pete Poolan, Bob Luke, John Mair and Avis Webb.
