Bomber’s Monday and Thursday roll up has developed over the years and started off many years ago with only 8 players from Petfoods, now to date over 30 regular players participate. They play off various handicaps controlled by organiser Bomber Wells (AKA David Wells) himself a Petfoods retiree. At the end of season, they have a bash and this year this consisted of 24 golfers playing an individual Stableford. The day started with all having a cooked breakfast before venturing onto the course. The Club Captain Gerry Stephens and Club Chairman Glenn Price were cordially invited to play in this competition. Although it was another cold day with the sun occasionally shining through, everyone was in fine spirits as usual and ready to participate. The competition included 2 nearest the pins which was won by Bill Hurrell on the par 3 5th and Club Captain Gerry Stephens par 3 14th whose prize was donated to his and the Lady Captain’s charity. The 1st place went to Brian Shillham with a good 34 points.
