Despite the poor weather, there was a record turnout to enjoy the annual Captains’ Drive-In. This year, all four new captains took part: Adrian Cairns – Club Captain, Alison Savage – Lady Captain, Brian Wray – Senior Captain and Dan Sharpe, Junior Captain and the total distance of the drives taken was 706 yards. Not only did all drives land on the fairway, with Dan’s at 248 yards, but the inclement weather and tough conditions reduced the distances by a possible additional 50 yards – so a great start to the season.
Angie and her team provided an excellent buffet for all members and a total of £2000 was raised towards the Captains’ charities and club funds. The incoming captains informed the members of what will be going on in 2026 and wished everyone a great golfing season.
