FROM ALL ON THE CENTENARY COMMITTEE – LOOKING FOREWARD TO A BRILLIANT FORTNIGHT!
Our Centenary celebrations kicked off last Saturday with a Flag competition organised by Club Captain Phil and Lady Captain Jackie greatly assisted by Chris Radford. It was very well supported with a number of members playing 27 holes in the day before the Centenary Flag was raised. The new smart Centenary mats were revealed at the entrances to the Clubhouse and all enjoyed to enjoy a buffet and cake.
Phil and Jackie have a whole host of events planned throughout the year, but the main centrepiece of the Celebrations is a fortnight of competitions immediately following the Pork Pie on June 8th.
We are negotiating reciprocal arrangements with Leighton Buzzard, Low Laithes and Barnsley golf clkubs and full details will be announced shortly.
These events have been planned to offer something for all golfers to enjoy. Gents, Ladies, Juniors, young and old there is something for everyone. We would love Members to invite friends, family and/or past Members to come and join them for a game and show off the course in our Centenary year. Guests without a playing handicap will be accommodated too. We wish as many players as possible to enjoy a game.

Tuesday June 10th: Centenary Gents Over 55s Competition. Tee reserved 8am-4pm Better Ball Pairs Stableford
Wednesday June 11th: Centenary Ladies Competition. Tee reserved 8am-2pm Timewarp Hickory Competition
Friday June 13th: Centenary Under 55s v Over 55s Match. Tee reserved 4.30pm-6.30pm Foursomes Match Play – teams captained by Steve Savage and Phil Curtis – BBQ or curry to follow
Saturday June 14th: Centenary Cup Competition. Open to Gents, Ladies and Juniors – singles competition – sign up on BRS.
Sunday June 15th: MMGC host LRGU Leicester Mercury Challenge Cup. Tee reserved 9am-1pm Singles stroke play. Scratch & Net Trophies. Register to play on LRGU website. Centenary Junior & Parent Competition. Tee reserved 1.30pm-3.30pm Better Ball Pairs Stableford
Monday June 16th: Centenary Mixed Competition Tee reserved 9am-12pm Better Ball Pairs Stableford
Saturday June 21st: Centenary Invitation & Sponsors Competition. Tee reserved 7.30am-4pm Members and Guests Florida Scramble
Sunday June 22nd: Centenary Inter Team Trophy 11am Shotgun Start – Buffet after to close the celebrations.
