Chris Radford and Matt Wallace (in absentia) lift the Goodacre Rosebowl

Sunday 21st July saw 58 competitors play in the traditional Open linked Goodacre Rosebowl.  A shotgun start sent the players on their way, having drawn out a professional partner from the final day at the Open in Portrush.  The winner is determined by deducting the Stableford score recorded at Melton from the professional’s medal score and the winner at Melton is more often than not different from the overall winner.  Luckily for Chris Radford this year, not only did he post a superb score of 42 points, but his professional, Matt Wallace, came in with a decent 72 making Chris’ final tally 30 which pipped Mick Peaker and Francesco Molinari on count back.
Stableford Result:  1st Chris Radford 42 pts: 2nd David McKain 40 pts: 3rd Paul Gough 38 pts ocb.
Twos sweep: David Taylor, Matt Catton, Alan Newton, Kevin Robertoson, Antony Halls, Danny Raven, Chris Radford and Steve Burton.
