On Tuesday 16th July, 45 senior golfers turned out to contest the Senior Captain’s Day, organised by Dick Chapman Senior Captain for 2019. The format was a 3 ball team Stableford competition with two scores to count on each hole and the course was in immaculate condition. The greens were receptive and the fairways were playing beautifully, although the rough was worth avoiding.

In first place with 84 points were Richard Faubert, Pete Rayers and Brian
Shilham. In 2nd place were Eddie Cham, Peter Maine and Charlie Chapman with 83 points on count back. In third place also on 83 points were Bob Luke, Robin Jones and Pat Lee.
Closest the pin on the 5th: Bob Purkis, on the 7th: Dave Hall, on the 14th: Robin Jones and on the 16th Peter Maine.
Neatest card winners were Richard Haines, Jim McQuillan and Steve Harris.
The whole event was concluded with a superb barbecue enjoyed on the patio in the warm weather.
