Ladies’ Competition Reports to 18 July

The ladies section at MMGC has had a busy 10 days.  A field of 21 ladies played for the Dorothy Nall Trophy which was won by ‘Drina Terzza with a nett 76.  Runner-up was Sally Hudson with a nett 78 on count back from Fay Hutton.

Winner of the July Sunday Medal was Pam Parker with a nett 75; with ‘Drina Terzza in second place with a nett 76.

July’s 9 Hole Qualifier was won by Janet Hipkin with 15 points, whilst Jose Jones came second with 10 points on count back from Isabel Gilland and Gladys Bryson.

Elizabeth Clarke took the winner’s place in the 18 hole July Wednesday Medal with a nett 75 on count back from Yvette Joyce who was runner-up.

The Past Lady Captains from the club met for their annual competition on Friday 11th July.  Past Lady Captains, including several who have now moved away, played a stableford format and enjoyed a tea afterwards served by our Vice-Captain, Karen Middleton, and Alison Gatward.  The winner of the 18 hole competition was ‘Drina Terzza with 34 points, whilst the runner up was Fay Brooks with 32 points.  The winner of the Past Lady Captains’ 9 hole competition was Janet Hipkin with 17 points, and the runner up was Margaret Pedge with 10 points.

The Jol Calder Championship competition, played over 36 holes, took place on Sunday with wind, rain and sun accompanying the ladies taking part.  The winner of the best gross over 36 holes, with a gross 170, was Leah Radford who is now the Club’s Lady Champion (pictured with tropy).  Runner Up was Kathie Finn.
