On a cool and misty evening, MMGC Lady Captain, Sandie Normanton, turned up to wish all the best to the MMGC team. However, MMGC players were unable to over turn the home advantage and the Charnwood team used their knowledge of their course to good advantage.
The pairing of MMGC Vice Captain Gerry Stephens and Lady Vice Captain Nancy Denny were 5 down by the 10th and fought back to 4 down. As the age old story goes, but for a few missed putts they could have closed the gap further.
It was a similar story for the second pairing of Dr John Harvey and Leah Radford, who were 7 down at one point. They too fought back to be only 4 down at the end, but Charnwood came out on top winning both matches with scores of four up.
Gerry thanked Charnwood’s Club Captain and their players after the match for their excellent hospitality and the excellent condition of their course. Good luck to the Charnwood Forest team for their next match in the County Mixed Foursomes.
