So far this June the men have played two mid week medals, a mid week stableford and The Ludlow Bowl Trophy Competition.
In the 5th June Mid Week Medal (RWS) Matt Catton had a return to his 2014 form this week and took advantage of the superb condition of the course when he won the mid-week medal with a storming net 63 6 shots clear of runner up Sam Pollard’s net 69 taking second place on count back from Tim Mortimer. Sam also shot the best gross of 72 but didn’t get a share of the two’s sweep which was won by Matt Catton, Leigh Butler, Oliver Duley, Neil Farish, Andy Blunt and Matt Thompson. Scoresheet
The midweek stableford (RWS) played on the 11th saw six handicap Mick Wilson beat Don Povey on count back for top spot with 41 points each. Alex Fairbrother was third on 38 points. 8 two’s were scored on the day, 5 at the par 3 14th and 3 at the 7th. Junior member Jake Mogg’s score in the Ludlow Bowl Trophy competition wasn’t dampened by the heavy rain on Saturday morning as he returned with a +4 score in the bogey/par format winning the trophy on count back from Dr. John Harvey also +4. Sam Pollard was once again in the placings taking third place with +3, continuing his good form from the Pork Pie Open and Mid-week medal of the previous week. Callum Relf and Sam Pollard scored the only two’s of the day. The 19th June Medal (RWS) winner, Tony Robinson shot a net 68 to win the medal. Gary Kitchen was runner up on count back from Jon Baxter both net 69. Only 2 two’s scored on the day from Dave poolan and Billy Kevan. Scoresheet
