A strong field of 97 competitors turned out to play in the Greenhall Cup, a pairs Stableford competition and another of the Club’s prestigious cups to be won. The day started a little overcast, but by mid morning the temperature rose quite rapid and the drying fairways made the ball run much further. The slight breeze was favourable on some holes, however the par 5s played a lot longer into the breeze.
The pairing of Alan Sleath and Dave Timbrell won on count back with an excellent score of 45 points from runners up Ray Catton and Stuart McNeill. The third winning pair, again winning on count back, were Neil Farish and Julian Kisiel with another good score of 43 points.
The twos sweep was shared by:
Jack Griffin x 2, Alan Sleath, Ian Plant, Peter Poolan, JP O Reilly Sam Pollard, Dave Poolan and Chris Radford.
