Halfway House Pimms on Lady Captain’s Day

Lady Captain's Day croppedThe weather held on Sunday for Lady Captain’s Day at Melton Mowbray Golf Club.  There were 32 ladies playing in team games for an 18 hole and a 9 hole competition.  The 18 hole competition was a full hcp stableford, with one score to count on the 1st 6 holes, 2 scores on the next 6 holes and all to count on the last 6.  The 9 hole competition was a full hcp better ball format.  The ladies enjoyed a glass of Pimms with the Lady Captain in the half way house followed by a late lunch in the clubhouse.  Lady Captain Karen said “We had a lovely day in good company with good humour and it didn’t rain which was a bonus”.  Winners of the 9 hole competition were Janet Hipkin and Di Ward with 16 points; runners up in the 18 hole competition, with 69 points, were Dorothy Jaggers, Sally Hudson and Sue Hitchman and the winners of the 18 hole competition, with 72 points, were Julia Brown, Pam Parker and Janet Bentley. After the Prize presentation Lady Vice Captain Liz Snow presented Karen with a bouquet from the ladies to thank her for all her hard work.

Julia Brown won the ladies silver salver 1 up on the course 2 up on second placed Diane Orson who finished 1 down. Drina Terzza finshed third 2 down, Lady Captain Karen Middleton won the Bronze Salver on count back from Denise Waldron both 2 down on the course. Pat Skelton was third 4 down. First Place in the Evans Bowl was won by Liz Clark with a level handicap net 72. Bettyne Norton’s net 75 put her in second place on count back from Liz Snow also 75
