Stay Safe on the Golf Course: A Player’s Guide

Health and Safety Information.

All players are advised to ensure they are adequately insured to cover theft or any accidents or damage they may cause or incur.

Everyone is responsible for their own safety and the safety of others who may be affected by their actions.

Care must always be taken to avoid accident or injury to anyone on the course, including the Greens staff. At all times, players are expected to minimise danger to others and themselves. All accidents MUST be reported to the Golf Shop or Office.

In the event of an accident, first-aid boxes are located in the Golf Shop, Office, Main Hall, Kitchen and Greens area. In an emergency call the Golf Shop, Office or dial 999 (our post code is LE14 4SD) and inform the Golf Shop or Office asap. Defibrilators are located next to the Golf Shop and in the shelter between the 14th Green and 15th Tee.

During electric storms, play will be suspended and signalled by one continuous blast on klaxon. Intermittent blasts signal the return to normal play.

At times of poor visibility (e.g. fog, mist, heavy rain, darkness), common sense must prevail. In particular, play on the 1st Tee can only commence if you can see the greenside bunkers. (Please see full details on the sign by the Golf Shop).

In case of a fire in the Clubhouse, operate the nearest fire alarm or raise the alarm by shouting. Leave the building by the nearest exit and go to the assembly point by the Driving Range. Do not stop to collect any personal belongings and only reenter when told it is safe to do so.
