Melton’s B Team travelled to Humberstone Heights led by Melton’s Vice Captain John Harvey, who was hoping to get back to winning ways after narrowly losing the previous week. Humberstone would be a formidable side to overcome, especially away from home. The good weather and a well manicured course would set the scene for a good event. All matches were very close over the first nine holes and a few of the Melton pairings took a few holes lead, but Humberstone dug deep and fought back to have some of the matches go their way.
The outcome would be a nail biting affair, all the way down to the wire, with Melton coming away overall winners 3 wins to 2. The Melton wins came from the following pairings: Richard Grieve & Kev Robertson won 1 up. Paul Hackett & Adrian Grant won 3 & 2. Neil Eaves & Steve Burton won 3 & 2.
