JULIA AND ‘DRINA WIN 1st ROUND OF DAILY MAIL FOURSOMES

Ladies from Park Hill Golf Club journeyed over to Melton on Sunday morning for the first round of the Ladies’ Daily Mail Foursomes Competition.  Unfortunately, the drying weather of the two previous days turned to rain after the first few holes.  However, the Melton team of Julia Brown and ‘Drina Terzza held their nerve and broke away from the yo-yo play of the first few holes to be 2 up at the turn.  Whilst the Park Hill Ladies played well and the match was played in good spirit, the confident play of the Melton Ladies and the home advantage secured a convincing win of 5 up with 3 to play for Julia and ‘Drina.’ Well done to them both.

Ladies results for last week are as follows: Winners of the 9 hole foursomes were: Jeanette Holland and Margaret Samways with 11 points Runners up were: Ann Creed and Dorothy Jaggers 7 points: The Winter League Competition was won by Drina Terzza with a score of 17 points and Di Orson finished second with 14 points. The winter league overall result has really heated up with Karen Middleton sitting first on 63 points now only 3 ahead of Drina Terzza on 60 – watch this space!
