The Junior section had a very good Open on Tuesday 4th August with 40 plus players from around the County taking part. Overall Winner with a best nett of 65 was Alex Carruthers from Lutterworth, Best Gross was Joe Hack also from Lutterworth. The team prize was won by Beedles Lake. Click Here for Scoresheet
On Thursday 6th the Pre Handicap juniors played a 9 hole medal for the Rabbit’s Trophy. The winner was Jack Standeven with 54, runner up was Ed Gough 57, Noah Burgoine was third. The putting competition was won by Olivia Standeven
Junior member Will Fairbrother has followed up his recent hole in one with an outstanding win in the Glen Gorse Junior Open shooting a 10 under handicap net 62! His reward was a 3.5 shot cut in handicap. Well done Will
Melton Juniors were away at Park Hill for their 3rd match in the Leicestershire Regional Junior League, having previously won the first game away at Scraptoft 4 – 2, the second game was a defeat at home to Beedles Lake 2 – 4, the only points coming from Will Fairbrother & James Daulby. Melton started well at Park Hill with a good win from Jake Mogg 3 & 1, including 2 birdies on the front 9, closely followed by Jack Griffin, who thanks to some good short game skills posted a 4 & 2 win, Junior Captain, Ed Thompson then gained a valuable half point, Will Thompson in the last game had a convincing 5 & 3 win, to give the Melton team the extra point they needed to complete a 3 1/2 to 2 1/2 victory. Depending on other results Melton now have a chance to finish top of their group and progress to the finals.
