On Sunday 9th December, the Ladies’ section teed off to play in the annual Christmas competition. The ladies were blessed with calm and pleasant conditions. There was no obvious sign on the course of the plentiful rain as the fairways were still running well, although some of the greens were particularly receptive. The format was a singles Stableford competition and taking first place and her own prize was the Lady Captain, Sandie Normanton with an excellent score of 20. In second place was Jean Moulds with 19 points and sharing third place were Liz Snow and Joan Allen both on 16 points. The event was rounded off with warm mince pies and mulled wine and a wonderful goodie stocking from the Lady Captain.
