The Melton Ladies Mail on Sunday Team had a home draw in the first round against 
the Ladies of Stoke Rochford, played on Sunday 1st February – although there had been some doubt during the week if it would go ahead due to the snow on the course
After the snow came the strong icy wind, but that did not deter the the ladies of both teams from going ahead with the match on Sunday morning. Whilst the Stoke Rochford Ladies battled hard, the Melton team of Leah Radford, Julia Brown, Elaine Shelton, ‘Drina Terzza and Denise Waldron, played some superb golf thoroughly utilising the home advantage with a winning score of 4 to 1.
