The ladies Prize Presentation, Celebration Lunch and AGM took place on Wednesday 17th January.
Lady Captain Bettyne Norton had the great pleasure of presenting all the competition winning ladies from 2017 with their trophies and a prize cheque. Those who had won club qualifying rounds for national or regional competitions received a token prize. Kathie Finn, Denise Waldron and Sue Hitchman had all had an excellent year all of them winning more than one trophy each.
The presentation was followed by a 2 course lunch of Roast beef, Yorkshire pudding and all the trimmings with
Creme Brulee for Dessert. It was nice to see old and new members there. Lunch over, the Annual General Meeting took place where Bettyne stepped down and handed over to Sandie Normanton as Lady Captain. Bettyne had thoroughly enjoyed her year and highlighted the successes and memorable times that had happened. Bettyne had raised more than £3,000.00 for her Charities, RNLI and Head Trauma, plus using some of her funds to help decorate the clubhouse.
Outgoing Lady President Chris Cook, then handed over the Lady Presidency to Bettyne, having been asked by Sandie to support her as Lady President.
Sandie was thrilled to be taking up the Lady Captaincy and very honoured. Sandie outlined her plans for the year, introduced her Lady Vice Captain, Nancy Denny and announced that her chosen charity for the year was Dogs for Good. We are sure it will be an excellent year.
