On a bright and sunny day, seven ladies visited Southwell Golf Club, Nottinghamshire for their first round matches in singles matchplay as part of the national Taskers’ compettion. The first nine holes are played inside the horse racing track and all 18 required course management with ditches, water and a ‘Sawgrass’ style par 3 island green. Two matches were taken to beyond 18 holes as everyone needed to post a result and Melton Ladies did manage to come away with 2 wins thanks to Jackie Ford and Jean Moulds.
The second leg of the competition will be held at Melton on Friday 24th April where ladies will host Southwall in seven more singles matches and hopefully make up the deficit.
