On Thursday 18th July, the ladies section played a friendly competition against Rutland County with the format being better ball match play off 90% of the difference in handicaps. The event was played in a very warm spirit as old acquaintances were renewed and the course allowed for some very close play and small margins to decide the outcome. The Melton ladies came away with a 2 1/2 to 1 1/2 win. Winning pairs were Liz Clark and Janet Bentley 4 & 2 and Margaret Smale and Liz Snow 5 & 3 with Jackie Fisher and Alison Gatward securing the half on the 18th hole.
