On Tuesday 14th August, 24 ladies wended their way to Peterborough Milton – some via the signposted diversion and others not! – for the Lady Captain’s Away Day. We were made extremely welcome and thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of the parkland course, despite the daunting lake on the first. The greens were soft and ran true and fast and the dry fairways retained a lot of bounce.
With the format of a three ball Stableford with two scores to count, the victors were Avis Webb, Liz Snow and Sue Bennett with a creditable 74 points. In second place with 72 points were Pam Parker, Alison Gatward and Nancy Denny and in third with 70 points were Bettyne Norton, Kathie Finn and the Lady Captain, Sandie Normanton.
A super meal of fish and chips rounded off the day in style – congratulations to Sandie for organising a really enjoyable day out.
