Lady Captain’s Day Sunday 6th July

Twenty eight ladies turned out to play in this competition. After a week or more of glorious sunshine, unfortunately the weather was challenging for this day. Play was halted while a thunderstorm passed over, but most teams went on to complete their rounds. The ladies’ resilience was rewarded when the Red Arrows flew over us as they headed back to base. Slightly damp, but full of good spirits everyone then sat down to enjoy an afternoon tea in the clubhouse.

Results of the 18 hole competition:

1st with 105 points: Julia Brown, Chris Hall, ‘Drina Terzza and a ghost player

2nd with 101 points: Kate Britton, Alison Gatward, Margaret Smale and Denise Waldron

5 Ladies played in a 9-hole competition and the winner was Elaine Howarth.
