On a blustery day, 24 ladies took part in the 18-hole Lady President’s Day medal competition. Liz Snow posted an excellent score of a nett 69 winning the salver and also took the honour of recording the fewest putts – 25 and was closest the line on the 6th hole. Kate Britton came 2nd in Division 1 with a nett 72 and Dee Hughes 3rd with a nett 74 with 28 putts. However, the putting prize was awarded to Julia Brown with 29 putts in the tradition of one player not receiving more than one prize. In Division 2, Dawn Potts came 1st with a nett 72, Margaret Smale 2nd with a nett 74 nd Jackie Fisher 3rd with a nett 79. The winner of the hidden holes was Kate Britton, but the prize was passed on to Nancy Denny who was 2nd on count back – again one player one prize!
All players thanked Liz Clark, Lady President, for organising such an enjoyable day, including strawberries and cream, tea, coffee and Pimms in the Halfway House.
