LARGEST ENTRY YET FOR STILTON OPEN

2nd greenThe third Cropwell Bishop Stilton Open held on Sunday 2nd August was a great success with its biggest field of players of 164 taking part many of them complimenting the superb condition of the greens and course after their game. Sponsored by The Cropwell Bishop Creamery each player received a piece of their Cropwell Bishop Blue Stilton to.  Playing an Am-Am Stableford Format, best two scores from four to count on each hole,  the result was very close with count back deciding all the prize winners and only 2 points between 1st and 4th places                1st I Hughes, D Hughes, S Freeman and M Wilkinson ( Doncaster) 82 points on count back,                     2nd C Daulby, J Daulby, N Farish and M Haines ( Melton) 82 points,  3rd C Budd, A Vernon, C Frake, and C Reed  (Edwalton and Willesley Park) 81 points on count back and 4th E Cham, G Stephens, A Blunt and J Mogg ( Melton) 81 points. Nearest the Pin on the 7th, M Lewis (Kirby Muxloe) and Longest Drive on the 11th M Sowerby Junior ( Town Moor) Amazingly only 4 two’s were scored on the day by R Mason (Bulwell Forest) J Mogg  ( Melton), Steve Brown (Ormonde Fields) and D Greetham (Burghley Park). The day ended with a prize presentation by Club Captain Brendan Boyce where he thanked the sponsors CROPWELL BISHOP STILTON OPEN for their generous support.
