Twenty four intrepid golfers from the Melton C Team took to the fairways of Forest of Arden as part of their annual Masters Away Weekend.
Sunday was a 4 Ball Team Stableford competition played on the Aylesford course. There was a very tight finish with the top two teams finishing tied on 103 points. The winners on count back were Keith Tomblin, Mark Lewis, John Mair and Colin Kitchen with the team of Ady Stokes, Glenn Price, Julian Kisiel and Alan Parkes just missing out on the top prize. Nearest the Pin winners were David Wells & Haydn Snow.
On Sunday evening we all enjoyed dinner watching the final round of the Masters with Club Captain Glenn Price returning as “Mr Fines” for all the comic mishaps during the day.
Monday was an Individual Stableford on the prestigious Arden course. JP O’Reilly was the winner with an excellent score of 36 points, whilst 2018 C Team Captain Adrian Green won the Derek Whitehouse Trophy with a score of 34 points. Alan Parkes came 3rd OCB from Glenn Price in 4th both with 29 points. Nearest the Pins were Alan Parkes, Dave McKain and JP O’Reilly.
The C team thoroughly enjoyed all the fun and banter and look forward to the weather improving in time for the start of the match season towards the end of the April.
