Despite the persistent rain, 53 golfers weathered the storm and turned out on Saturday in the medal and Lombard Trophy competition. The winner would have the opportunity to partner the Club Professional, Tony Westwood, in the Lombard Pro-am qualifier at Little Aston Golf Club on the 5th June. This course is renown for being one of the best clubs in all of the West Midlands and the chance to play there presented a great incentive for all the players.
The overall winner was Stuart McNeill nett 69.
James Cartwright came a creditable second with a nett 71 and third was Club Champion Mick Wilson with a nett 72. Mick returned the lowest gross score of 78 and the Twos sweep winners were Matt Catton and Mick Wilson on the 16th, Ray Smith on the 14th and Phil Curtis on the 7th.
The standard scratch score for the course on the day went up from 70 to 73.
