Adi Stokes celebrating his hole in one
Melton C Team, captained by Adrian Green, travelled to Belton Park, Lincolnshire to play a match on a course which is a firm favourite of theirs. The hot weather continued and the green staff had done their job and presented the course in excellent condition. Melton were out to win this one, as last year they could only manage to come away with a half.
Adi Stokes, who partnered Adrian, played exceptional golf in only his first visit to Belton Park and concluded his round with his first ever ‘Hole in One’ on the 193 Yard par 3 17th. However the side went down 4 1/2 to 1 1/2 in favour of Belton Park. The other other points came from the following pairs:
Keith Tomblin and Alan Parkes were 4 down with 4 to play and won all the remaining 4 to earn a very creditable draw.
