With the course in excellent condition and good weather conditions for golf, Melton League team took on a Market Harborough team at Melton Mowbray Golf Club. These fixtures have always been played with some very good banter over the years and the results have always been hard fought and very close. The teams were introduced to Melton Club Captain John Harvey by stand in team Captain Gerry Stephens.
The overall result was a well deserved win for Mkt Harborough 4 wins to 2, although it could have been much closer with three of the matches going right down to the 17th hole to settle the outcome. The winning players for Melton were Rob Smith winning 1 up and new club member Rory Ladbrook winning 2 & 1. The Mkt Harborough team Captain, who is also the head greenkeeper at Mkt Harborough, was very complimentary about the condition of the Melton course and the very warm welcome his team received.
