MELTON SENIORS BACK TO WINNING WAYS

After the previous weeks first defeat of the season, Melton got back to winning ways with a convincing win in a home return leg against Beedles Lake. Weather conditions were marvellous with the course looking really well defined and conditions were suited for low scores.
The match was finely balanced at 2 a piece at the half way point with wins
from Mick Cavani and Charlie Chapman (4 and 3) and Ken Robson and Bruce Ferguson (2 and 1). Then the last 4 pairings stepped up the pace with a half from Steve Martin and Graham Page, followed by three straight wins from Ray Catton and David Hirst (2 and 1), Colin Kitchen and Bob Purkis (6 and 5) and Richard Grieve and Brian Wray (2 and 1) to complete a fine 5 ½ – 2 ½ win. A really good win especially after drawing 4 all in the away leg 3 weeks previously. Well done team.
