The first match of the season on 18th April saw Melton Golf Club B Team travel to Whetstone. After some unrelenting rain over the last few weeks, the weather took a change for the better and gave us one of the hottest days recorded for April. Kevin Parker, Whet
stone B team Captain, (2nd right) welcomed the Melton team before handing over to Steve Wright, Melton B Team Captain, (2nd left). He thanked Kevin and his team for their excellent hospitality and their ground staff for all their hard work in preparing the course up to such a good condition, considering all the previous wet weather. The match was followed by excellent food and good humour to round off the day.
The result of the match was a close encounter with Whetstone victorious winning by 3 points to 2. The winning pairs for Melton were Billy Kevan and Richard Grieve 2 up, and Neil Eaves and Steve Wright 2 up.
The next B Team match is Wednesday 16th May versus Forest Hill at Home.
