Melton Mowbray Golf Club hosted the Midland Golf Union Junior Champion of Champions competition on Sunday 
6th September.
45 Junior County Champions, boys and girls of varying ages, took part from counties across the Midlands as far across as Shropshire, Gloucestershire and Worcestershire and over to Suffolk. The players played a 36 hole competition over 3 age groups, under 14, under 16 and under 18. The competition was a two tee start with a short break for lunch. Melton members assisted by starting and ball spotting and generally helping. The visiting officials and accompanying parents gave many compliments on the condition and presentation of the course. Lady Captain Karen Middleton and Club Chairman Phil Millward assisted Mr Neil Harris and Past MGU President Mr Alan Benson at the prize presentations and were pleased to receive a cheque in donation to the Club.
