On Friday 4th May, 44 Melton Mowbray Golf Club Members took to the course to raise money for course improvements. The ‘Military’ vs ‘Civvies’ match was organised by Steve Middleton and Bob Luke.
Ladies and gents were divided up into the two teams and the format was a 4 ball better ball Stableford match. The weather on the day was cool but fine and the course played mostly long in the light breeze, making it much harder for all the golfers. The matches were played in good humour and banter from both sides. The final score was 8 points to 4 in favour of the civilians.
Players from both teams enjoyed a refreshing and well deserved drink after the match. A raffle was held on the day to boost the funds raised and the overall money raised was about £450.
A big thank you and congratulations must go to the organisers and team Captains, Steve Middleton and Bob Luke.
