Longcliffe put out a strong team of +1, and 2 handicap men and County squad ladies 2 and 7 handicap to take on the Melton Mixed Foursomes team of Sam Pollard (2) with Leah Radford (8) and Callum Relf (5) with Elaine Shelton (20). Sam and Leah led the Melton team out and with a fantastic display of golf from both teams knuckled down to secure a lead for Melton with a 5 up win. The delighted pair watched knowing that victory was Melton’s as Callum and Elaine played up the 18th, only one down and needing to win the hole to halve their match, the pair halved the hole and a one down loss but the team score resulted in a superb 4 up aggregate win for Melton to go through to the semi finals. Congratulations to the team who will now meet Lutterworth at a neutral ground.
