Melton B team went into their match last Wednesday hoping to make it a hat trick of wins in a row when they played Cosby Golf Club away. In the baking heat and on a tight course, it would prove to be a formidable task for Melton and they fell just short with a close 3 to 2 wins to Cosby.
The stand in team Captain Neil Eaves with partner Phil Curtis had to dig deep to stay with their opponents who chipped in and sank birdies during the first 7 holes to find themselves 5 down. However, they stuck to their task, dug deep and pulled back a few holes only to finally lose 2 and 1. The MMGC points came from the following pairings: Brian Cole and Richard Grieve, Kev Robertson and John Harvey.
