Melton suffered their first home defeat of the season against a tough Glen Gorse side who came with a team that was a mixture of youth and experience.
Adrian Green and Club Captain Glenn Price had a very tough match which was all square until a wonder shot by 15-year Spencer Smith landed 18 inches from the pin on the 18th to clinch the match for Glen Gorse 1up.
Dave McKain and Ady Stokes were held and their match finished all square
Keith Tomblin and Don Benzie had a great win at 5 and 4
Dave Bailey and Colin Kitchen lost 2 down
Andy Pedlar and new to the C Team J P O’Reilly had a good 2 and 1 win, but the final pairing of Mark Lewis and Andy Wade lost 3 and 1 although Mark Lewis had to play on his own for the back 9 holes.
Match result Glen Gorse won 3 and a half to 2 and a half.
