On Thursday 21st June, Melton Mowbray Golf Club visited Rutland Water for their 4th game in the scratch league.
They were off to a very promising start with a win from Pete Poolan 2&1. Some good scoring saw Craig Hallam win 6&5, followed by another comfortable victory from Duncan Bagshaw 7&6. Dave Poolan‘s match was in the balance and eventually ended as a draw
Results then swung in favour of the home side who won the remaining four matches, two of which were decided on the final hole. Melton were left to reflect on missed chances as Rutland Water secured a narrow 4 1/2 to 3 1/2 victory.
