One Lady Two Gents play for a newly donated Rosebowl prize

‘Drina, Susan, Mary, Al and Phil

On Sunday 7th July, an excellent field of 39 players contested the One Lady Two Gents event, which now has a superb Rosebowl to play for kindly donated by the King family.  Gordon and Margaret King were stalwart members of MMGC, well remembered by many of the current players and they feature several times on the Trophy boards in the entrance hall.  Their daughters, Susan and Mary, were keen to continue the link and provided a beautifully engraved Rosebowl in memory of their parents.

The format was a Stableford competition with the Lady’s score to count and only one of the gent’s scores.  Despite a few sore heads from the Summer Ball the night before, this proved no problem for the winning team, ‘Drina Terzza, Al Terzza and Phil Millward who carded an excellent 74 points.  In second place were Chris Cook, Owen Cook and Ian Solloway with 69 points.
