On Friday 12th July the Ladies’ section held their annual Past Lady Captain competition which is split into three events – a 9 hole competition, an 18 hole competition for Past Lady Captains of Melton Mowbray Golf Club and an 18 hole competition for lady members who were Captains at other clubs, now commemorated as the Mowbray Bowl. Competition was fierce and the winners came out on top by the smallest margins.
Overall winner and recipient of the Past Lady Captain’s Trophy was current Lady President Julia Brown with a solid 34 points. In second place was Liz Snow, just pipped, with 33 points.

The Ladies’ section also took the opportunity to invite all past Lady Captains and Lady Presidents to an afternoon tea and prize presentation and 24 attendees thoroughly enjoyed the event, catching up with friends and the latest gossip.
