On another sunny Thursday, a team of 8 players from MMGC Ladies’ Section ventured to play a friendly match at Rutland County Golf Club. The fairways were dry and running well and the greens were in excellent condition. Rutland County celebrates its 20th anniversary this weekend and it has matured into a challenging and interesting course, with wide fairways and its fair share of bunkers.

However, MMGC Ladies were in their element and took full control in all the matches. Winning pairs were Janet Bentley and Joan Allen 5 and 4, Margaret Smale and Pat Barnes 2 and 1, Liz Snow and Jean Moulds 4 and 3 and Lady Captain, Sandie Normanton and Dee Adams 5 and 3 making the perfect score in favour of Melton.
