The heavy rains of Friday made the course play long on Saturday reflected in the Competition Standard Scratch increasing to 71 giving winner Neil Eaves a 7 under handicap result with his net 64. Former Junior Captain, James Parker was second with a net 66 one point better than third placed Tim Buxton’s net 67. Sam Pollard shot a superb gross 71 bringing in the lowest gross of the day. Kevin Newman won The Compton Cup Round 3 played for by 21 to 28 handicap players, with a net 69 2 ahead of second placed Ian Anderson’s net 71. Alan Parkes finished in third place with a net 77.
