The weather was amazing for the annual Melton Mowbray Golf Club Professional’s Day hosted by Tony Westwood. There were over 130 players attempting to win the trophy. With no wind and warm autumn sunshine, the scoring was expected to be exceptional. And yet it seemed that the tricky nature of the course proved to be challenging for many. With several players tied on 38 stableford points across the three men’s divisions, it was looking likely that a card countback was going to be required. But late in the day. former Lady Captain Nancy Denny carded a superb 39 points to win the overall trophy.
