SENIORS
The Seniors’ Team hosted the Seniors’ Team from Greetham Valley on Thursday the 23rd of June 2022.
On a sunny and warm day, the Melton side prevailed with 6 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat. Winning pairs for MMGC were Richard Faubert and Steve Harrison, Neil Farish and David Hirst, David Wells and Richard Grieve, Dick Chapman and Joe Carrington, Haydn Snow and Colin Kitchen and Charlie Chapman and Gordon Hughes.
Don Benzie and Julian Kisiel were able to get a draw in their match. Unfortunately, Nigel Vernon and Denis Dayman lost to their opponents from Greetham by the narrow margin of 2 holes up with one left to play. The MMGC Seniors will next host Birstall Golf Club Seniors on Tuesday the 28th of June.
MIXED
The mixed team had a very entertaining home encounter against South Kyme eventually losing by 5 matches to 3. Melton’s winners were Paul and Kate Britton, Mike and Gill Hoggan and Haydn and Liz Snow.
Jack Wildman Tropy
Last Tuesday, Melton’s Ladies and Seniors competed for the Jack Wildman Trophy, a mixed Greensome Stableford. The results were close with Jerzy Schmidt and Gill Hoggan winning on countback from Denis Dayman and Cheryl Osborne on 41 points. Charlie Chapman and Jackie Fisher came third with 40 points.
LADIES
The Ladies’ section played for the Jol Calder Salver on Wednesday 22nd June. Gill Hoggan was first with a very impressive nett 64, Nancy Denny was second on countback form Drina Terzza with nett 73.
