The gents divisional championships took place on Saturday 5th September the golf course playing well and in superb condition.
Sam Pollard won the Gerard Leigh Bowl (played for by up to 12 handicap players) his 2 under handicap gross 70 nett 68 winning him both the trophy and best gross, Runner Up Tom Smith shot nett 69 and Mick Wilson’s nett 70 put him in third spot. The Hayes Cup played by handicaps 13 to 20 was decided by countback, Eddie Cham knocking Andy pedlar into second place both with net 70. Andy Westwood was third with net 73. Eddie Cham also shot the best gross of 85. Again only 2 two’s were scored by Ray Smith and Adrian Stokes Scoresheet Here
Handicaps 21 to 28 played for the Wally Hill Cup Father and Son Ian and Andrew Blunt were in the top 3 Ian winning the trophy with a net 69 and Andrew’s net 72 taking third spot one behind runner up Roy Tomley with net 71. No one in the division shot a two.
Neil Farish shot a 3 under handicap net 67 to win the mid week medal on 3rd September. He finished one better than second placed Mick Wilson nett 68. Jake Mogg was third a further 4 adrift with net 72.
Mick Wilson had a good day as he also won the best gross 73 and scored two two’s to win half of the two’s sweep. Jake Mogg and Ron Smith scored the other two’s.
Callum Relf’s recent good form continued over the August bank holiday weekend when he won the Stableford with 41 points on count back from Andy Westwood. Gary Kitchen was third with 40 points. 5 two’s were scored on the day by: Andy Westwood, Jake Mogg, Rob Smith and Mick Wilson scored two.
