20 teams turned out to play in the yellow ball peril on Saturday, despite the very strong winds. The yellow ball peril is a fourball Stableford competition where the golfer with the yellow ball and one other player scores on each hole. The heavy, strong wind made the right club selection imperative to keep the ball straight and in play. With only 6 points separating the first 7 teams, it was a nail-biting finish to the end.
The overall winning team was Guy Rayson, Kev Robertson, Paul Halford and Ray Smith with 75 points. Second were Club Captain Glenn Price, James Denny and Terry Brown with 70 points on count back from Owen Cook, Club Vice Captain Gerry Stephens, Ian Solloway and John Webb 3rd with 70 points.
Twos Sweep was won solely by James Denny
