Seventeen teams come to Melton Mowbray Golf club on Friday 31st October for our annual Scary Scramble and what a welcome we had for them. The course was in great condition, and there were pumpkins, spooky decorations and outstanding costumes all round. All teams had a great time and enjoyed the refreshments on offer at the Halfway House as well as the lurking Halloween figures that haunted the course.
In first place with an excellent nett 60 were The Corpse Brides from Elton Furze. Second, on count back with 62 were Fairway to Hell from Rushden. Third on 62 and again on count back were No Bones from Belton Park and finally in fourth with 62 were High Flyers from Burghley Park.
Closest the wavy line on the 6th was Elaine Williams from Nene park and closest the pin on the 14th was Alison Savage (aka Uncle Fester) from MMGC.
Best fancy dress costume was won by Dead Religious from Belton Woods although there were several strong contenders for the position. Thank you to the gents from the Halfway House who served all the cakes and hot drinks and who judged the fancy dress.
