Vic Newham won the 18 August Senior Stableford with a score of 35 points 2 better than 2nd placed Joe Carrington’s 33 points. Peter Maine took third place with 30.
Melton seniors continued their fine home form with two emphatic match wins. Their home match against Birstall resulted in an 8-0 win for Melton. The winners were: Senior Captain, Haydn Snow and Nev Palmer 5 & 3, Jim McQuillan and David Wells 5 & 4, John Squires and Bob Parkinson 3 & 2, Bob Purkis and Steve Plaistow 2 &1, George Hoskins and Denis Dayman 1 up, Dick Chapman and Robin Jones 3 & 2, Richard Haines and Brian Wray 3 & 1, Phil Millward and Alan Terzza 2 &1.
