Tuesday saw 34 Seniors enter the Frank Williams Trophy competition. The day started with reasonable weather and those who started early missed some of the rain, which was quite heavy but didn’t last too long. With brollies going up and down with each shower, it was like an audition for Mary Poppins. The competition was a Stableford format and the winner was Mike Hoggan with 39 points. In second place, on count back, with 38 points was Mick Cavani and third was Richard Grieve also 38 points.
Wednesday saw the Seniors’ team travel to Southwell to play against Norwood Park. Sadly, they were unable to repeat the success they had in the home fixture losing 5.5 to 0.5. Captain Richard Faubert ably supported by partner Roger Merchant saved a complete whitewash.
